The Special Issue of the Newtowner was conceived as a gift from the arts to help the community of Newtown heal after the Sandy Hook tragedy. I was able to get many volunteer designers, photographers and illustrators to donate their time and talent. Among them was Harry Campbell who produced the cover illustration.
I designed a handful of the spreads, including the ones above.
An all volunteer publication was conceived by some very energetic editors and writers. I volunteered to design the book. The Newtowner: An Arts and Literary Magazine focused on publishing poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction and art from Newtown residents. I helped conceive the structure and designed the grid system, masthead
and brand look.
